Russian to English translations [PRO] Construction / Civil Engineering | | Russian term or phrase: подсыпка грунта | Hello. I get the general idea that this involves filling up a space with earth, but I have no idea what we call this in English. Multitran gives bedding course, but this seems to refer specifically to laying paving. I don't have any context, apart from that it is for a large construction project and the подсыпка грунта is going to cost a lot.
Does anyone know the English?
Thanks! |

| | English translation:ground for upfilling and levelling | Explanation: "Подсыпка" is isually used for filling surface irregularities and levelling, landscaping and planting. It means that we'll have to deliver geround from somewhere else and it will cost a lot. As for backfill(ing) it is a different operation, e.g. we excavate a trench for a pipe and then we backfill it with the same ground we excavated. It's relatively chip! |
