Russian term or phrase: обаразовательные дисцилины

Дисциплина в дипломе от педагогического университета:

"Основы моделирования образовательных дисциплин"

Я предполагаю, что 'образовательный’ здесь значит (по крайней мере примерно) то же самое как ’общеобразовательный’. А что такое ’моделирование’ в данном контексте?

Я перевожу диплому на финский язык. Таким образом, мне особенно не нужен перевод на английский (хотя, он выгоден, и совсем не мешает), а прежде всего объяснение значения русского выражения.

These things happen. I thought that 'образовательные дисцилины' are a certain kind of academic disciplines, but quite apparently attribute 'образовательные' is used here in order to specify the meaning of дисцилины (= not that of ‘control’).
