As for the suggested translation "federal state-funded educational institution", I see the following problem: here in the US, the notion "federally funded" is somewhat opposed to "state-funded" (the former meaning that the funds come from the federal government and the latter - that the money comes from the state (e.g., the state of Washington, California, etc.) and "federal state-funded" sounds like an oxymoron. |
