Russian term or phrase:
Thanks, everybody, for such a good discussion and such a great choice of possible translations! I think I made my mind. Evethough it is not the highest graded answer, I believe it is the one that I like the most.
until you read the article that follows. A brief explanation further down - "Russian ravioli" in brackets if you like - should satisfy the reader's curiosity.
I'm all in favour of keeping a bit of local colour, and the purpose of the title is to give the reader a "taster" of what's in the article. It will arouse curiosity as to what pelmeny are. Some of the most interesting titles don't make complete sense ...
Oh, well. My mistake ;) Though majority of people among my friends/acquaintances whose native tongue is English seem to know, or at least have an idea, what pelmeni are...
Carley, I like your sense og humor! ""My Dinner with Vladimir" would be a prefect one if I would b au author of this article. Unfortunately, I have to work with what author has selected as a title. But, as I said, I do appriciate your sense of humor and your creativety! ;-)
I believe many English readers know what pelmeni are. Besides if you put it in converted commas it will be obvious that it is a joke. That's what it is anyway, a joke. Don't you think? :)

A serving of Russian ravioli negotiations
Explanation: Along the lines of Andrey's version. The term 'Russian ravioli' would be universally understood, rather than 'pelmeni', which not all readers would be familiar with
