Catherine, my point wasn't the use of оценка, but the incorporation of terminology into language, which is this case, perhaps, from legislation into daily use. An "environmental impact assessment" in the USA was a government decree; now it's incorporated into most businesses affecting the environment. In your case, I presume since I don't have a full text, you're talking about "objects" (call it "facilities") to be examined from an environmental viewpoint; they're not reviews or reports. Whatever you want, it's your translation. Glad U. of Fla. published your book; my alma mater, graduated from there with wife and 3 kids, one born there, after the Korean War; taught Russian to Drs. (who wanted to deliver papers in Russian in Moscow) at new Med School to help me/us thru Univ.; fininished in 2 yrs with honors. I wish you well--Georgetown is a great university with a great Foreign Service school, if I remember right, which is difficult to do these days! God Bless, Jack |
