Explanation: as well as makhallya. It used to be asked. Just Asia & Russian "h" sound is perceived as 'kh' fonetically. Somethong like neighborhood or community in moslem countries. Good luck, russiaconnect!

Алекс, согласен, но просто слово употребляется и в Таджикистане, и в Индии тоже (сслыки не менее железные, чем у Вас - по Индии книжку анекдотов переводил, где как раз речь шла о деревне, а не о городе, а про Таджикистан друг рассказывал, который бывал не только в столицах как Ташкент и Душанбе, но и в глубинке, ближе к народу)
