neutral  Alexander Onishko: hi David, I believe this should be "the Privokzal'naya Square" ||| thank you for your reply, David - but why no the ? - we still say - "the Red square" ?

  -> It's not "the", but otherwise you have a point. However, I haven't heard of Krasnaya Square, and площадь победы is a bit tricky using your style!//No - it's "Red/Trafalgar Square" with no article. "The Red Square" is "the square which is coloured red".
