но я погуглил это "hatch penny" и толком не нашел ничего. Будет ли оно понятно без сносок? Поэтому и предложил более обтекаемый вариант с "magic".

Я видел, но этот перевод меня не устраивает. Не подходит он к смыслу сказки. Там суть не в том, что его нельзя разменять, а в том, что он - источник нескончаемого богатства, рубль, который нельзя потратить, сколько не трать
