is it. My only hesitation is that I've never heard or used this phrase myself. Has anyone ever used or encountered this phrase "brandy nose" in real life?
What I mean by this is a usage change. Think about it: the entry from Dahl, which is old, never mentions "sizy tsvet". Sizy this and Sizy that, but never this or that "sizovogo tsveta". The Wikipedia article, which is by definition much newer, far less authoritative but definitely indicative at that, is called "Sizy Tsvet" outright. What I think we are observing here is change in action, a usage shift that wasn't there yesterday but is today. I am not sure I like it, but it sure is there, and one should deny its existence strictly at his or her peril. Just a stray comment though. Cheers, man.
or is it in fact a fairly asinine way of putting it in Russian? I mean, sizy nos, yes, but "nos sizogo tsveta"? There's no such thing as "sizyi tsvet", not on my palette anyway.
