ведущий инженер переводить буквально не стоит. В каждой стране приняты свои тарифные сетки. (к примеру, я тоже когда то был инженером продаж, но, по сути, sales manager). Здесь у нас ведущий инженер, поэтому предлагаю officer, a не просто manager.
