Russian term or phrase: gastronome
A prson who likes posh foods called "gastronome". A person who likes his meal with wine called "connoisseur".I better choose the first one because the text is telling about an ordinary person not an expert in meals.

English translation:gourmet
Explanation:
If you want a translation of гастроном into English, I think "gourmet" is a better word. "Connoisseur" is general, if it's a connoisseur of food you would need to say so or it would have to be clear from the context. But not "gourmand", which is just a greedy person who overeats.
