Russian term or phrase: Женский факультет насквозь женского пединститута
На нашем ЖЕНСКОМ факультете НАСКВОЗЬ ЖЕНСКОГО пединститута она считалась самой красивой девушкой.
The idea is that the department was mostly girls and the college it belonged to was also notorious for being dominated by girls. Though of course, boys were very welcome there.

neutral  Leniana Koroleva: sounds ironic to me(to put it mildly:), but is it ironic according to the context? Chap knows the details, though as for me should I be called a student of a petticoat college I wouldn't have been happy:)
