Russian term or phrase: вотчина
This is a strange metaphorical usage of the term вотчина, which refers to feudal estates (unless it's a typo... -- for what?). It's talking about 3D printers used in prototyping:

Вотчина этих аппаратов прототипирование. Небольшие объекты можно построить в натуральную величину, а те что побольше в уменьшенном масштабе.

Explanation:
Not exactly the same, historically, but in the same broad category of metaphor. Also, one usually thinks of the bailiwicks of people, not objects (though, same for вотчина), but look at this...
