Russian to English translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Slang / this is a question I got, and the word угораздило is not written in the dictionary
Russian term or phrase: как ж его так угораздило??
I couldn't even look угораздило up on google, to see if there was any understanding of what she was asking me..
it seems like it does mean something like, mixed, equinted or hooked, or i have noo idea.. I need to know.. I am studying russian and one word makes all my studies collaps.. I learn by myself, just the way I learned to speak and write english, slang aswell.. so this word.. sigh* very annoying.. help please

Explanation:
so yea, it happens that the words are not in dictionaries, that's why we're here to help! :)

угораздило comes from the root "горазд" (на) literally means "he/she is up to", clever at, good at
but in this case because you see the prefix "у-" it changes the meaning to slightly negative, i.e. whoever did the action he or she clearly "overdid" and thus screwed things up :)

so there is a lot of room actually for translation, but again the meaning would be something to the effect of:
How the heck did he manage to screw things like that?
or maybe now you can come up with a better wording?

my personal advice for you is: never give up :)

Explanation:
How on earth (in the world, the heck) did he .....? What made him do that, what brought him to do smth in the first place, etc. (only more emphatically)
This construction is an intensifier

You should have provided more context though... It depends on what you are talking about. E.g. Как же тебя угораздило на ней жениться ? How could (why did) you marry her in the first place? I just don’t get it….
