Russian to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Slang / company slogan
Russian term or phrase:быть, а не бить по карману
Как бы вы перевели такой слоган с сохранением игры слов?
В первой части фразы имеется в виду, что перевод должен служить определенным целям (обслуживать коммуникативные потребности населения), а во второй - быть приемлемыми по стоимости (эта часть и так понятна).
Мой вариант пока такой: Translation should hit the customer, not his pocket. Не знаю, насколько это идиоматично звучит. Или такой: Translation should serve the customer and not hit his pocket/Translation should serve the customer and not ruin his budget.
Спасибо, Михаил, огромное! Я был почти близок к тем вариантам, что вы предложили. Тоже стал играться с beyond, но ушел куда-то в сторону и растекся мыслью по древу.
