I would translate it as "college," for most trade schools in US are now called colleges. For example, Bryman college or Southern California Technical College. Those used to be (and still are, really) trade schools. If you compare the level of education in US "colleges" like Bryman to Russian "technikums," Russian students usually are more qualified in their field.
