in railway industry "ремонтно-восстановительная бригада" usually shall be translated as "track maintenance crew" and "перегон" - "track section" accordingly.
In your case "на перегоне" means only that this crew (and its foreman) are in the field so the above wording can be to my mind sufficiently adequate translation |
