En général, sur un compte-rendu d'hospitalisation, on demande un suivi par un médecin (pédiatre, ophtalmologue, neurologue etc.) de ville, c'est-à-dire, un médecin qui se trouve dans le secteur où habite le malade par opposition au médecin qui travaille à l'hôpital.
