Dear Tatiana, On receipt of Assiolo`s <contradiction> I have made further investigations to finally come across the following link which is such as to make me dissuade you from using the abbreviation RNB because :
"Negli ultimi giorni molte persone mi hanno voluto segnalare un provider che sembrerebbe basato in Russia, Russian Business Network (RBN), anche se mancano riferimenti alla sede dei suoi uffici, un indirizzo, un server in evidenza. Il provider ospita centinaia di siti pedopornografici.

Asker: Cara Ellen, quando ho detto che mi piace la sua traduzione mi riferivo alla sua neutrale forma rete russa d'affari, siccome nel mio caso si tratta di far capire alla casa editrice con cui collabora di che sito internet si tratta (ho preso da questo sito la classifica delle vendite di un libro). Ringrazio comunque Assiolo per i chiarimenti che mi sono utili.

Confesso che sono rimasta spiacevolmente sorpresa dalla risposta di Ellen che di solito mostra serietà e impegno. Prima di tradurre, il traduttore dovrebbe capire il significato del termine che sta traducendo e poi cercare la traduzione migliore nella lingua di arrivo.
www.rbc.ru non ha niente a che fare con l'organizzazione criminale RBN - Russian Business Network http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Business_Network (mancando qualunque riferimento da parte di Ellen, suppongo che intendesse questo).
E' una valida compagnia che si occupa delle analisi di mercato e degli affari in genere e pubblica ottimi materiali informativi sia in internet che nella stampa. Ha, inoltre, un canale televisivo satellitare che è diventato il punto di riferimento per gli uomini d'affari ed è molto istruttivo anche per la gente comune. Se avete l'antenna parabolica, vi consiglio di aggiungerlo ai vostri preferiti (viene trasmesso su Hotbird).

Dovendo tradurre, lascerei nel testo italiano RBC e, volendo, aggiungerei la spiegazione del tipo "compagnia che opera nel campo dell'informazione e dei media dedicati al mondo degli affari", qualcosa del genere. Si può anche dare la traduzione letteraria "canale russo del business, o degli affari", precisando che si tratta della traduzione letteraria perché effettivamente non suona un gran che. Per esempio:
"RBC, letteralmente "Canale russo degli affari", compagnia che opera nel campo dell'informazione dedicata al mondo degli affari attraverso la stampa, internet, un canale televisivo tematico".
Mi sembra che RBC possa essere trattato alla stregua di BBC, CNN, TASS, ecc.
