Sanskrit term or phrase: Ananya
Dear all!
I have heard that this term stands for something like "one that can not be found in others", "unique", "devoted to the one and only" etc.
I was wondering however, if this term is appropriate for a relationship between two people, or if it rather refers to worshiping the Lord or a deity in a philosophical sense? What could be a better expression for "you're the one and only" or "only you"? Any help on this is much appreciated! Thanks...

Explanation:
The meaning you know of the term are correct. The term is secular and can be used is various context, including one's relation with the Supreme or the Attributes of the Supreme Himself/Herself.
"Of the same form", "not separate", etc., are other meanings of the term. The term is actually the antonym of Anya (अन्य); join prefix An (अन) to Anya (अन्य/separate), and you have the term.
अनन्य चित, Ananya Chit; अनन्य चिंत, Ananya Chint, अनन्य चेतस्, Ananya Chai'tas, अनन्य मनस्, Ananya Man'as; etc., mean "one whose mind is nowhere else"--and the usage can be for secular things, e.g. vis-a-vis studies, etc.; as well as for religious things, e.g. Bhakhti or "the state of being engrossed/absorbed in God or devoted to God".

अनन्य भाज्, Ananya Baj means "One who doesn't feel attachment towards any person.
अनन्य वृत्ति, Ananya Vri'ti means "of the same disposition"

And so forth.
