Explanation:
Iako su kolege već navele neke pojmove za koje smatram da su ispravni, ako se ne varam, u tekstu se javljaju "lokalne samouprave" ali i "mesne samouprave". Iako je moguće sažeti oba pojma u jedan i reći lokalna samouprava (local government) čisto bih želeo da predložim alternativu ukoliko bi se išlo na dva naziva.

Moj predlog je da mesna samouprava bude "town government office" ili ukoliko bi lokalna samouprava prešla u "district (ili region) goverment office" (jer po logici obuhvata više mesta) onda bi mesna samouprava bilo prevedeno kao "local government office". Čini mi se da kada bi se prevodilo pod jednim terminom čitalac ne bi pojmio suštinu rečenice da postoje dve uprave, regionalna/pokrajnska i mesna isključivo vezana za jedno naseljeno mesto.

Explanation:
Ako treba da ipak napravite razliku izmedju lokalne samouprave i mesne onda je ovo opcija za to. Zato sto termin mesni podrazumeva manje jedinice lokalne uprave, a to su mesne zajednice.

S tim sto sam za mesnu samoupravu vidjala i varijantu local office sto mi se takodje svidelo...

M(j)esna samouprava - bar prema zakonima o lokalnoj samoupravi u regionu - se odnosi na m(j)esne zajednice i druge (uglavnom nikad pomenute) oblike m(j)esne samouprave.

Jedinice lokalne samouprave su opštine i gradovi.

Postoji razlika između lokalne uprave i lokalne samouprave. (Npr. organi lokalne samouprave su skupština i predsednik opštine, a organi lokalne uprave su razni sekretarijati, direkcije i drugi organi za upravne poslove).

(Još jedna mogućnost za prevod je "meat self-government" ;-)
