Slovak to English translations [PRO] Science | | Slovak term or phrase: prirodoveda | As a subject in primary school. The list of subjects on the school certificate also includes prirodopis, so I'd like to know what the difference is between prirodoveda and prirodopis.
Is prirodoveda really as broad as the English term "natural science(s)", meaning "physics, chemistry, geology, biology..." (sciences dealing with the physical world)? |

| | prirodoveda- science (UK primary school equivalent) | Explanation: Prirodoveda is taught up to Y4 (UK equivalent would be primary school)and it broadly corresponds to what the children of similar age are taught in Science in the UK. Prirodopis is taught in Y5-Y8 (loosely equivalent to UK secondary schools up to GCSE level), but it concentrates on nature (biology would be probably the best translation, as other natural sciences are taught separately). |

In fact the next two subjects on the list are physics and chemistry. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
