Slovenian term or phrase: da se zlijemo z avtomobilom.
Na primer, položaj prestavne ročice, ki je lahko bolj spredaj, na strani, ali bolj zadaj, bo določil, katere mišice boste uporabljali. Uravnati moramo količino potrebne moči,da se zlijemo z avtomobilom. Takšen občutek želim, da dobite, tudi ko se peljete samo v trgovino.

From car technology description (for marketing purposes). I can't grab the sense of "zlijemo" in this sentence, maybe I'm just having a bad day!

Explanation:
The expression simply means "to become one with the car", nothing to do with pouring in the litteral sense at all ... so you could just use any other expression meaning the same, but this is the one I often came across when translating similar texts into Slovene. Some others I came across would include e.g. "to feel one with the car", "to feel melded with the car", "to feel right at home in the car" etc.

Explanation:
The expression simply means "to become one with the car", nothing to do with pouring in the litteral sense at all ... so you could just use any other expression meaning the same, but this is the one I often came across when translating similar texts into Slovene. Some others I came across would include e.g. "to feel one with the car", "to feel melded with the car", "to feel right at home in the car" etc.

neutral  Marjan Golobic: "... become one with..." is perhaps better than "... become AT one with...". Also, let's keep the same register. Thus, "automobile" and not "car."

  -> The late hour got the better of me as my proposed answer was supposed to be "to FEEL at one with the car" - see the links - (far more commonly used than without the "at"). Also, not sure how "automobile" is related to any previos register choice here.

I would suggest the idiom ‘to feel at one with’. ‘Automobile’ is more common in American usage, so whether you would use ‘car’ or ‘automobile’ would depend on your target audience and/or preference.

agree  Marjan Golobic: I could live with this translation. However, the verb "zlijemo" is an "action" verb, not a "status" verb. I would therefore go out on a limb and suggest that "BECOME one" is a more appropriate translation.

Explanation:
I know the term means to pour, or maybe to "pour yourself into" as one would pour themselves into their work. Maybe "to become one with" could be used. "Eno z avtomobilom". "One with the car". That is how I would interpret this term. It mentions getting a good feeling from driving the car even if you are only just going to the store.

Sorry, I'm new to Kudoz so I just realized put the target term in Slovenian instead of English, "one with the car." I am sure my explanation made that clear.

agree  lirka: but 'car' is perfectly OK//I still think car is OK, but 'vehicle' would be even better for the US.

  -> I beg to differ: English "car" would be "avto" in Slovenian, and English "automobile" is "avtomobil" in Slovenian. Let's respect the rule of linguistic register.
