Estoy traduciendo (a inglés) el catalógo de un fabricante español de ventanas y este término aparece muchas veces. No me queda nada claro y estoy esperando clarificación del cliente. He hecho la misma pregunta en la sección español>inglés pero de momento no he podido averiguar a qué se refiere (pueden ver la pregunta aquí - http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/construction_ci...

Aparece varias veces, y pongo algunos ejemplos aquí:

Hojas de 50 mm de frente y 22 mm de ancho para acristalamiento sencillo o doble vidrio hasta 16 mm.

Hojas de 60 mm de frente y 29 mm de profundidad.

Marcos guías de 120 mm y laterales de 123.8 mm con cámara y hojas perimetrales de 99.2 mm de frente y 50.4 de anchura con sistema de ajunquillado.

Cercos de 45 mm de profundidad por 59 mm de frente.

Explanation:
Hola Rebecca! En Argentina, suele hablarse de terrenos, por ejemplo, de 12 m de frente y se refieren al ancho/anchura del terreno, en oposición a la profundidad. Lo que me extraña es que habla de frente y anchura en una de tus oraciones al mismo tiempo. Tienen más lógica los que hablan de frente (anchura) y profundidad. Es lo que entiendo, esperemos a ver que dicen otros colegas.

It would think it refers to height, but would certainly visit the client's web site to check it first. Anyway, asking the customer will not make you appear ignorant, but interested in avoiding elementary mistakes.
