Sordidos is zoiets als duister, armoedig, gemeen, laag.
Garito is letterlijk een 'hol', waar de onderwereld zich ophoudt, waar gegokt wordt, of op zijn minst een plek waar drank en vertier is; maar kan ook een "hok" zijn in zin van studentenkamer in slechte staat. Louche tenten lijkt me het meest gangbare Nederlands dat de dekking van 'sordidos garitos' dekt

Nina: "dat kon je zien aan de vervallen/armelijke/sjofele/haveloze madrileense krotten" is ook mogelijk, ik denk dat je het uit de contekst moet halen of het om een woning of iets anders ging. "Se le veia" kan misschien ook "men zag haar in...", "je zag het in..." zijn? Succes. |
