Spanish term or phrase: cuando uno va por la 95
Once again, from a conversation about smoking & ads. And once again, I have a sneaking suspicion of the meaning, but wish to confirm. Here's the text:

He visto esto de [marca] cuando uno va por la 95, había un sign grande que tenía...

Could this be, "while going down I-95"? (I'm thinking "la 95" is short for "la carretera interstatal")

Many thanks!

when traveling down I95

Taxation is a means of managing demand. But the extreme taxation Wally talks about encourages crime. I live along I95. I95 is one of the most heavily traveled roads in the US. Two products that account for some of the criminal activity on I95 are cigarettes and guns. One is heavily taxed in New York City. The other is banned out right in New York City. I95 is a corridor for illegal commerce in guns and cigarettes.

I'm not sure though... I know there is a brand that uses the street sign for ROUTE 66, but I don't know of any brand that uses I95.

-> thanks George. So do I although hardly the same part...

disagree  Jane Lamb-Ruiz: it does not say driving down which would mean south..it's says driving on..different

-> which, if you are not merely taking pleasure in nagging again, you can see from my alternate solution

agree  Rebecca Hendry: I don't think "driving down" necessarily means that you're going south - we quite often say "to drive down the road" irrespective of the direction in which you're travelling. Saludos.

Saludos :O)
