i.e. brilliants - a diamond cut in a particular way - check in any good English dictionary and you will find it

disagree  María Eugenia Wachtendorff: The sentence is clear enough, CMJ. You don't need to specify. Besides, although "brilliant" is correct, this term is very rarely used by jewellers.//I apologize, CMJ. I didn't mean to be rude. However, the asker needs a translation, not a definition.

-> I agree that it is usually diamonds but it may be other precious stones - I was only quoting the definition and I am shocked by your disagree

diamonds

Explanation:
Brillantes are called "diamonds" in English; they make no difference between brillantes and diamantes.

As it always happens when I come to kudoz after skipping sleep, I don't seem to have expressed myself clearly.

"Brillantería" translates "diamonds"
"Piedras preciosas" are "precious stones"
"Gems" are either or both of the above + pearls
"Semi-precious stones" are "piedras semipreciosas"
