Spanish term or phrase: registro editorial
Thanks to everyone who has helped out with my two previous postings. I think this will be the last one!

I’m translating a text that describes the services provided by a "communication and design agency" based in Spain. They help clients with copywriting, creating websites, corporate identity, etc.

In this part they're talking about a project in which they helped the client create a publication to promote its paper products. Each issue of the magazine had a specific theme. I’m looking for the proper term for “registro editorial”.

Choosing the editorial registry?

Notes to answerer
Asker: I agree. Of course it's possible that the sentence isn't very well written and "registro editorial" is supposed to be a separate take (not connected to "selecting").

neutral  David Ronder: My thought exactly - editorial tone or stance, because how can you choose a registry entry? But I couldn't find any examples of it being used in this way, and most hits did suggest that the term relates to registering ISBN/ISSN nos. etc. No se.

editorial stance

Explanation:
The consensus here seems to be moving in the direction that it is about the attitude the publication adopts, not some kind of legal or professional register/registry. I think "editorial tone" and "editorial register" are semantically valid for "registro" in this context, but that editorial stance is more collocationally correct - it's what we say. A publication has a general tone, but it adopts stances on issues as they arise. Register is primarily a linguistic term. Plenty of examples of editorial stance:
