"Actuaron" in general. I don't know whether "behave" would work here, perhaps also "perform":

"How did brands like XXX or YYY behave following launch?"

Without more context, I share Andy's view, that this phrase means "how did they handle (or approach) their launches" in the sense of "what was their strategy?"

Sorry about the "o" Lisa, I wrote too quickly and abruptly, misunderstanding your comment, but on second thoughts I saw you meant something else, which you certainly did. Yes, you are both right, and from now on I'll take the "o" = "and" issue into consideration.

I know it says 'o' but sometimes that 'o' means 'and' in English, which I thought made more sense here, but we don´t have the full context.

'Handle/perform'? - Maybe we can be more sure about the correct translation if you provide us with the text that comes after this question.

Just a couple of things:

Apart from the fact that Rachel makes an excellent point, which is lost on too many translators, on reading this sentence my first impression (which still holds) was that it meant "How did brands such as XXX and YYY handle their launches?"

Can't see where the "after" comes into it.

This is a problem with Spanish. Sometimes "o" traditionally accepted as "or" is actually "y" "and." Example: Entre los candidatos para el premio de literatura figuraban Carmen Lopez o Miguel Ángel Castellón. This sentence can't mean that Carmen Lopez or Miguel Ángel Castellón were candidates but the author wasn't sure which one. It has to mean that they both were candidates. In your case I think either will work, but other translations in the future might not be so flexible. I think "their" in your translation works fine, but it's optional.

Sorry, but the source text says "o". I had also thought of "their" after "following". So perhaps the best option would be "How did brands like XXX or YYY perform following their launch?" Please confirm.

I think your suggestion of 'perform' is good. But shouldn´t it be AND not OR?
