Spanish term or phrase: parada de motor de precaución
El tema es Aviación. Esta frase aparece en una lista de fallas y configuraciones que los pilotos deben practicar en sus lecciones en los simuladores de vuelo. No me queda claro lo de "precaución". No se si se trata de una falla en el motor o que lo detienen a propósito por precaución.

Explanation:
No encuentro ni una sola referencia a un "motor de precaución", ni he oído nunca hablar de ello. Con lo cual entiendo precaución debe ser lo que tú intuyes en segundo lugar.
Tampoco jamás he oído que un backup engine se llame "motor de precaución".

POr otra parte, en un simulador de vuelo, es lógico que se practique esta parada de motor que no es por fallo total y de repente se para solo, sino que te lo paran con tu conocimiento para simular un "por si acaso" y a ver qué haces.

disagree  Paul Slocomb: The topic is aviation, not space flight. How many airplanes are there that have "backup engines" to fire up in an emergency. I'd guess none. And ABEC evidently is a backup control system, not a backup engine.
