Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Aerospace / Aviation / Space
Spanish term or phrase: Marcha ruta
This term appears twice in a document from Cuba on an incident with an aircraft.

"A la llegada del vuelo, se realizó la *marcha ruta* por los compañeros de Operaciones, no siendo detectado el golpe, probablemente, por lo pequeño del mismo..."

and then again:

"Recomendaciones y medidas de seguridad:
1.
2. Por parte de los representates de operaciones, la experiencia y extremar las medidas para la realización de la *marcha ruta*, especialmente en horarios nocturnos"

Can't find any references to it, much less how it should be translated.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

English translation:Walk around inspection
Explanation:
Pienso que se trata de una mala traducción del término en inglés. Por ello mi nivel de confianza no es alto.

Conociendo el área creo que hablan de una inspección "walk around", la cual es visual alrededor del avión mientras se camina a su alrededor

O "walk around check"

Mira el concepto:

Commercial aircrafts are frequently inspected visually. There is a primary inspection called "walk around check" both in the line and the base, transit checks, daily check, weekly check, A check, B check etc…

Line is the more about the quick checks while aircraft is in the park or in between flights.

Base is mostly the hanger, where hard checks, repairs take place.

A qualified engineer walk around the aircraft and inspect structural items visually. Engine is also checked during the walk around checks. There engineer watches for oil leaks, structural damages in the engine, inlet of the engine for composite parts fixtures to the structure, fan/first stages of the compressor, last stages of the turbine for deterioration or damages , or any unusual changes of the engine.
In this example shows how, engineer/Pilot carry on a walk around inspection of a Boeing 777 aircraft.

My pleasure. Indeed it is an inspection. It is a very bad translation into Spanish. "Marcha ruta" is totally nonsense in Spanish.
