Spanish term or phrase: agropecuario / agrícola
From an analysis of land uses: "La participación de la silvicultura en el PIB nacional hasta ahora ha sido marginal, sin embargo, en los últimos años muestra una tendencia de crecimiento que hace diferencia de lo que se observa en el sector agropecuario y más aún en el sector agrícola que en el año 2001 presentó un crecimiento negativo." Is this just redundant, or is there a difference between Agricola and Agropecuario (I find "agricultural" used for either one, apparently indiscriminately).

Explanation:
the agropecuario is used more for the industry side..

industria agropecuario= agricultural industry..

agricola can be agricultural or farming depending on context

produção agricola: agricultural output. uma região agricola: a farming region...but they are rather interchangeable

agree  Muriel Vasconcellos: Or agroindustry. In this context, both terms are translated in English as "agricultural." No need to include "livestock" here. Strictly speaking it's redundant because "agriculture" in English, unlike Spanish, includes all aspects of farming.

neutral  Muriel Vasconcellos: Elizabeth's point is true for Spanish but not for English. The "pecuario" part is actually redundant in English unless there is a technical need for including it. This is the policy followed by translators in the international organizations.

Explanation:
Yes, there is a difference: agropecuario refers to both activities of crop growing and animal rearing, whereas agrícola refers only to crop growing.

I can see the difficulty here with English, since farming as well as agriculture refer to crop growing and animal rearing. May I suggest farming for "agropecuario" and the use of the word crop later to crack this particular problem, perhaps with "crop-growing sector" or "crop output".
