Bibliographic references are never supposed to be translated, except for a function word like "and" between two authors' names. [Or if the publication exists in both the source and the target language in officially binding versions.]
In your example, it's 95% likely to be the abbreviated name of a publication series--i.e. #604 in the BTN series, whatever it is. If in your other case the number comes _after_ "BTN" and it's not longer than 4 digits, then there is no doubt that it's a publication series.
But the bottom line is that you don't translate a bibliographic reference. |
