It appears that Bordos has more than one meaning in Spanish/Mexican/Argentinian Spanish. One meaning in Mexico is a 'right of way', a pathway linking villages but this is not relevant here (see reference). It can also refer to irrigation waterways
It would appear this translation is about inocculating wheat against disease. I would therefore suggest that 'bordos' be best translated simply as irrigation channels.
