crop agriculture is a valid alternative

If you want the name for a university course though, I might be tempted to go with: Crop Science.

Here is another useful link regarding crop science

http://www.sac.ac.uk/research/external/Programmes/PlantandCr...

Only problem of course is that crop science would cover both of your two disciplines - it would be unusual to find a programme of study dedicated to just one of them.

Are these two subjects individual modules within an agriculture or crop science degree?

If so, I would revert to option one and simply call the course title: cereal agriculture!

Having said all of this, it seems that N. Dakota Univ has a department dedicated purely to Cereal Science!

So perhaps Cereal Science could be the name of your course, though I ahve to say it does sound slightly odd to me...

disagree  Tudor Soiman: you ca't link either cereal or crop to agriculture since it's the science or practice of cultivating the land andkeeping or breeding animals for food (oxford dict)(cultivation or culture)
5 hrs
-> disagree - yes you can - while i have myself said (read it if you can be bothered) that agriculture is not right here - you clearly do not know what you are saying if you say crop/cereal and agriculture cannot be linked
