permanecer sanas o al menos producir rendimientos aceptables en presencia de una o más
enfermedades. Aunque en algunas condiciones, ambientes muy fértiles asociados a altas densidades
de plantas pueden conducir a la aparición de mayores problemas de podredumbre carbonosa del tallo
(Sclerotinia) o podredumbre de la raíz y base del tallo (Phyotphtora) (Hoeft y col. 2000). Según Vallone
(2003), la severidad de podredumbre marrón del tallo (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) se reduce en
condiciones alto contenido de K en los suelos. La probabilidad de ocurrencia de problemas de
enfermedades con cultivos estresados y con desbalances de nutrientes es mayor que en su ausencia.
Según Picio y Franje (1980) en un estudio en Filipinas, la severidad de roya de soja sería menor luego
de la fertilización combinada con superfosfato triple y KCl. El equilibrio de nutrientes puede ser tan
importante como el nivel de un elemento específico (Huber y Arny, 1985). La ocurrencia de algunas
enfermedades se ha descripto en relación con las concentraciones de nutrientes en las plantas
(Ivancovich, 1996). Tal es el caso de infección de vainas y semillas de soja por Phomposis dónde altas
concentraciones de K y bajas concentraciones de Ca en las paredes celulares se asociaron con una
mayor presencia de la enfermedad (Thomison y col. 1988). La incidencia de cancro de la soja
(Phomopsis phaseoli o Diaporthe) ha sido descripto con mayor frecuencia bajo condiciones de exceso
de N induciendo a deficiencias relativas de K (Yorinori, 1996) |
