Spanish term or phrase: lo comunitario
"El nuestro es un trabajo que apunta hacia lo comunitario."

Es un proyecto de investigación en antropología.
Es un giro muy común en español (Argentina)pero no se me ocurre cómo poner ese "lo" comunitario, lo político, lo social... Es como que abarca, categoriza las ideas, acciones, prácticas...

Explanation:
you can't translate lo comunitario..you have to work around it..

either in: community work, or community x, depending on the context

the same goes for lo social and lo politico

it depends on context.

The only exception is in certain academic texts where post-modern writers use The political, the social etc.

that which is associated with/pertains to the community

Explanation:
The idea is that is has to do with that which is related to the community (which might be another option, as well). :-)

lo comunitario = that which is associated with/pertains to/related to the community

apunta hacia=targets/focuses on

Another option might be "Our work focuses on/deals with that which pertains to the (life of the) community"

Given the anthropological context of the source document, "life of" could be used to emphazise social aspects of the environment in question.

neutral Simon Bruni: out of context I would agree that 'lo comunitario' is 'community-related', but in this sentence 'oriented' encompasses the 'apunta hacia' aspect
