mar52: 5:51pm Oct 12, 2006: Thxs so much to all for your input and comments. Just one more thing about my question. The author learned just "some saberes", not everything. That is why I do not want to put "the wisdom". Sorry, I should have said it first. The author intends to continue learning about it and so he is submitting a request to continue his studies abroad.

This is very similar to your take and also to Karin's answer. I steer away from using "native" which some consider politically incorrect. And "world view" can also be spelled as one word.

I would also consider "She taught me the wisdom of ..."which sounds more natural to me in English.
