This is from a late-16th-cen. writer, and I cannot figure out what "el Redondo" (the second, capitalized, instance of the word) means ---

Un cerro antiquísimo que está dentro [de la ciudad] hecho a mano todo de adobes, que, antiguamente, estaba hecho en redondo y, ahora, con las cuadras de las calles, está cuadrado. Tiene el pedestal [...] dos mil y cuatrocientos pasos comunes; tiene el alto este pedestal cuarenta varas, encima del cual pueden caber diez mil personas. Después va subiendo el cerro el Redondo […] otras cuarenta varas; de manera que todo su altor son ochenta varas [...]

I am so impressed with your answer. THank you very much. I'm going to ask for the clients' input, but I think that given this is a handwritten ms. it is quite likely that it should have been "en redondo". I also had not seen the link, which is good to have, too. THANKS!
