Spanish to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Archaeology / papermaking | | Spanish term or phrase: Papel parado | I'm in over my head with these terms describing paper imported in Mexico from Spain in the early colonial period. I'll post one term at a time, but there are several that I'm not able to translate:
Desde muy pronto en los mercados de la ciudad hubo tratantes especializados en papel que vendían, además de los papeles indígenas de siempre, una gran variedad de papeles importados, como el blanco, el medio blanco, el parado, el grueso, el delgado, el ancho, el largo, sin que faltara el podrido o el “gorolloso”. |
