Spanish to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Archaeology / Mexico/Chichén Itzá | | Spanish term or phrase: La escultura se disciplina a la arquitectura | I initially translated this as "sculpture disciplines architecture" but because the verb is reflexive, I'm wondering if I got that backwards? Sculpture submits to the discipline of the architecture?
La escultura se disciplina a la arquitectura, y es en lo que destaca el valor del diseño, muy equilibrado, en donde el altorrelieve está conformado de líneas horizontales, verticales y diagonales, que crean volúmenes; éstos se proyectan en la superficie del friso cuyo plano es más visible debido a que el movimiento de la piedra lo proporciona la parte superior del edificio. |
