In google, "looting" provided more hits. I just did a translation about this topic, this is what I used.
The word I have seen most used when talking about archeological sites is "looting". I had the pleasure (sorry for bragging) of sudying Peruvian archeology with Dr. Christopher Donnan and the term "guaqueria" or "Huaqueria"is also used.
