Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Archaeology / archaeology/government agency | | Spanish term or phrase: ceramoteca | I'm thinking that "ceramoteca" refers to pottery archives or exhibits or something along those lines, but I am not sure of the what an English equivalent would be.
Here is the context, (from Peru):
"... a la vez la socia trabaja para una entidad estatal en el área de ceramoteca."
This is where the context comes from:
http://www.kiva.org/lend/272634
A translation is offered, but at this point I'm still looking for more of a translation than an explanation, as is the solution given on the above website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

5 hrs confidence: pottery or ceramics laboratory
Explanation: I think "ceramics collection" is probably right but one possible alternative would be "pottery lab" which is the term archaeologists use informally for the place (often temporary) where they analysze the ceramics that they find in a dig. I doubt you can resolve it unless you ask the person what exactly she does!
Example sentence(s):- The ceramics lab analyzes pottery recovered from all OAS projects and conducts contractual studies for other agencies, including a recently completed project for Los Alamos National Laboratory.
