Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Architecture
Spanish term or phrase:puertas en recodo
Good afternoon to everybody. I am translating from Spanish to English (which I shouldn't because it is not my mother tongue) and I can not find a word. Could anybody help me? The text is about Arab Architecture in Andalusia (walls, doors, towers..) and the word is "puertas en recodo", which, according to my researchs seems to be the same as "puertas torre fortificadas" but I cannot find an English translation. I would be very grateful. This is the context:
"Integrada en la bodega El Castillo de esta misma casa comercial se encuentra la Torre de Beltrán Riquel, seguramente perteneciente a la estructura defensiva de lo que fue la puerta en recodo".
"De la Puerta de Santiago, las más compleja en planta como parecen acordar los historiadores y arqueólogos (de triple recodo), no queda nada".
