Spanish term or phrase: esquema compositivo
In a course description for a bachelor of architecture program at a Mexican university, the following appears as one of the requirements in a course on the theory and history of architecture:

"Analizar los esquemas compositivos de este lapso, relacionarlos entre sí y derivar constantes e influencias respecto de la arquitectura."

Can anyone confirm what the appropriate translation of "esquemas compositivos" is in this context? I haven't been able to find any satisfactory equivalent.
