Spanish term or phrase: punto de estancia
Hello,

I am trying to translate "punto de estancia" to English. The text is a travel guide that emphasizes urban development/planning aspects of cities. In this case there is no helpful context, since "puntos de estancia" appears as a heading for a section. It basically seems to refer to outdoor spaces where the public can hang out. It is not necessarily a defined recreational area, like a playground or park. It may be a few benches on a median strip, or a broad open space by a piece of public art where people may meet, sight-see, or rest. Pretty vague. Any suggestions? I am tearing my hair out over this one.

agree  Noni Gilbert: Yes, I think this is the right direction. Places, in other words, where you would spend time. I like leisure areas, altho perhaps even that is "overstructured".
