Spanish term or phrase: El formato intermedio

This is taken from a report presented for a photographic exhibition. This has something to do with the scale of the project in question, but I know I'm missing a clearer English term here.

El formato intermedio del proyecto, cuyo diseño permite un sorprendente recorrido visual, representa un simbólico montana que simula los picos montañosos que emergen del hielo.
