Spanish to English translations [PRO]

...el cuerpo de Jesús, derecho y frontal, no colgante de la cruz, como correspondería a un muerto, sino casi se diría, si no fuera por la cabeza, erguido, con los pies apoyados en el *supedáneo*, soportando sobre ellos su propio peso...
I know what this refers to, it is the little platform on the crucifix where the feet stand. I'm not sure what to call it in English. I have seen it translated as crucifix base, but I'm not sure about this. Any input? Thank you very much in advance. |
