some helpful websites... Explanation: The only other words I've seen are jeringa, irrigador, and instrumento manual para echar ayudas (medicamento). Maybe these websites will give you an idea of some of the different uses of "lavativa" in Spanish and Catalan. ¡Suerte! http://www.missatges.com/aplec/colles/cat/lavativa.htm http://www.lopera.es.org/apodos.htm#l http://www.corvetteven.com/diccionario.html http://members.onecenter.com/euro/lincoln36/cronica13.html http://members.es.tripod.de/THE_LAVATIVA/V1.0/THE_LAVATIVA.h... web |

Lavativa also means : dull, boring, uninteresting Explanation: LAVATIVA can be familiarly used IN SPANISH with the meaning of "BORING", "DULL", "UNINTERESTING"...or as a synonym for the spanish words: "aburrido", "soso", "sin gracia", "sin interés", etc. I don't know whether this can fit your translation. Ah, I am a native spanish speaker. Regards, BD Mi experiencia + mi idioma nativo es el espaol |

The Cleansing Explanation: Is another option. Do you have a picture of the painting.... it may mean the act of cleansing something or someone. Figuratively as if "cleansing your soul". Just a thought! Saludos afectuosos. Maria ;o) |

"Running off at the mouth" Explanation: In English we might call this rather rudely 'verbal diarrea" so might be a painting of someone who is a 'blabbermouth" "gossip" of other uncontrolled personality type. Tough one - good luck! Michele |
