spirit, nature, character Explanation: genius-Exceptional intellectual and creative power. A natural talent or inclination. The prevailing spirit or character. I believe the painter is refering to the fighting spirit of the people. SPIRIT OF THE PEOPLE Explanation: There are so many synomyms in English for both words ["genio" and "raza": genio = genius, temper, mood, talent, character, spirit, etc. raza = race, people, breed, etc. However, given your particular context, I'm inclined to believe that your best bet (in a literary sense) would be: "the spirit of the people" Hope this helps:-) tb Oxford Superlex, Simon & Schuster's, + a lot of Exp |
